Always concentrated on their musical home Sliabh Luachra (irish for: Mountain of Rushes) - a lonely mountain region on the border of Cork and Kerry -, there is also music from other regions during almost an hour. Whisht!’s music comes from all parts of Ireland, England and Britanny as well as from Holland. Groovy jigs and reels, Sliabh Luachra typical polkas and slides as well as four vier unter die Haut gehende Songs provide a great experience. The repertoire consists of traditional material and new compositions.
Whisht! could finish their debut with the help of some guests: Gudrun Walther’s (Cara, More Maids, Deitsch) wonderful voice can be heard for an impressive moment. Dirk Neuhoff (Friel’s Kitchen) provides an excellent groove for some tracks and Dutch harper Tets Halbertsma supports the band for her own composition.
Jürgen Treyz, acoustic music specialist at Artes Tonstudio Esslingen, made a recording of rarely found and exceptional pieces with brilliant sound quality.
Jackie Small, Sliabh Luachra connoisseur and editor of Ceol Rince na hÉireann, showed great honour to Whisht! in writing a thematical preface for Touchdown.
Whisht! - with their distinctive and compact sound of uilleann pipes and fiddle, as well as of a power rhythm group - are known as one of the most energetic live acts of the German Irish music scenery. They reached a collection of their most beautiful musical moments in Touchdown.

At a time when Irish music seems to be pushing ever harder to blend with other sounds, Bua returns magnificently to the heart of the music I first fell in love with . . . before Riverdance, before Celtgrass, before people decided that Irish music had run out of places to go on its own and needed new partners.
